"Valpen" ("the puppy") is a highly appreciated and useful vehicle, both militarily and civily!

The museum has two PLTGBIL 903 on the premises. 

A design classic, developed by Volvo's military vehicle division in the 1950s. 
A Swedish-made replacement for the American Willys jeeps was needed, and the result was the PLTGBIL 903. 
A simple and effective all-terrain vehicle with high ground clearance, designed to navigate rough terrain and deep snow with a light load or up to 6 passengers. 

The manufacturer Volvo referred to the series as the "Laplander," but colloquially it was known as the "Valp" (puppy), as the large tires resembled the disproportionately large paws of a puppy. 

The Valp was produced in various versions for different purposes, and a total of 8,000 vehicles were purchased. It was used militarily until the late 1990s. 

Not only the military benefited from this vehicle; it was also purchased by emergency services, forest owners, the telecommunications company, power companies, and others.
