LTGBIL 939 AF

The LTGBIL 939 was manufactured between 1962-66 and came in various configurations. At its core, it is an adapted Volvo Viking standard truck, modified to meet military requirements with features such as all-wheel drive, a winch, and a transfer gearbox. 

Kalixlinjens museum's example is an LTGBIL 939 AF, where "A" stands for the A-version, and "F" indicates it is equipped with a hatch and a mounting for a machine gun. 

The Lastterrängbil 939 was primarily used for personnel and equipment transport. With all-wheel drive capability, a maximum load of just over 5 tons, and 125 horsepower, it could carry a full load and tow trailers as well! 
At the end of the 1970s, the LTGBIL 939 was replaced by more modern all-terrain vehicles.
