57 MM PVKAN M/43
57 MM ANTI-TANK GUN M/43
57 mm PVKAN m/43 was developed in response to the increasingly stronger armor protection of enemy armored vehicles. There was a need for more powerful means to break through, and the 57 mm anti-tank gun was designed. Due to its weight (nearly 1000 kg), it was heavy to manually maneuver in rough terrain, and as armored vehicles continued to improve, the 57 mm PVKAN was reassigned to other tasks. It was eventually replaced by 9 cm PVPJ 1110.
The 57 mm PVKAN had a rate of fire of 12 rounds per minute and a maximum range of 8.5 km.
