20 mm akan m/40

The 20mm automatic gun is similar to a large machine gun, with high explosive power but somewhat lower precision. It has a rate of fire of 6 rounds per second and typically uses a magazine with 36 rounds. 

The automatic gun itself weighs 42 kg and was mounted on various types of mounts (the support/stand that heavier weapons are mounted on for stability and precision), depending on its intended use. It was, among other things, mounted on smaller ships for anti-aircraft protection, on larger vessels to complement larger guns when rapid fire was needed in close combat, on trailers for easy transport/positioning, or on vehicles. Of course, fixed installations were also made, where the 20mm AKAN m/40 was used as an integral part of the defense of protected assets.
