During the Finnish Winter War and Continuation War, Sweden took in 72,000 Finnish children with the intention of protecting them from the hardships of war. <\/p>\n

Pirkko S\u00f6derholm (born in 1937) was sent to Sweden twice during World War II and has shared her memories from those journeys. <\/p>\n
